Oscars Whew what an amazing night, it truly is one of my favorite nights of the year. The montage in the beginning set to “In the Hall of the Mountain King” by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross from the Social Network was AMAZING. It clearly lacked some more photos from 127 hours, Winters Bone and Toy Story 3 but still it was a great montage. (If you’re interested in seeing it, it’s up on the oscars.com web site under highlights). If you would like to hear the amazing Music from newly crowned Oscar winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross here is the link to the song.
My personal favorite for best score was Inception by Hans Zimmer but I was super excited to see these guys win the score was fantastic.
The Beginning film with Anne and James in Alec Baldwin’s mind was also very funny; the highlight would be the dance of the brown duck. This is also available to see on the Oscars.com web site. Anne looked amazing throughout the whole evening and was really doing a good job of keeping up the flow and mood of the show I felt it moved along quickly and was not bogged down too much. James on the other hand was no prize he was not on top of his form and just relied on his smile, which can get him far just does not make great TV. Over all I liked the telecast but I don’t think they will be asked back next year.
Best Moments
1: Natalie Winning Best Actress, she is absolutely amazing and I have loved her ever since I was like 11. It was great to see her win and her acceptance speech was great as well.
2: God of love winning best short film, the young man who won was a complete joy and super funny.
3: Kirk Douglass was hysterical and really showed that even though he has had a stroke he is still smart and funny.
4: Celine Dion singing, she has an amazing voice and it’s always nice to hear her sing.
5: Christian Bale starting to cry when he was giving his acceptance speech.
Worst Moments
1: Kings Speech winning Best picture, should have been The Social Network or Black Swan
2: Tom Hooper winning best director instead if David Fincher
3: The Gurffalo losing best animated short to “The Lost thing”
4: James Franco
5: even though I loved the actual montage the one in the end was a bit biased towards the king’s speech. Still awesome montage just a bit sided.
